My experience was fantastic! My server (Malcolm) was incredibly attentive and kind. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again and hopefully soon. Thank you for the great experience!
Unfortunately today the breakfast was below OK .... The over easy eggs was swimming in oil .... cinnamon pancakes... no taste of cinnamon ... the coffee was great ... the lady who took care of us was incredibly friendly. with a welcoming, happy smile all the time .... I think the cooker was not ready today
Very cute. Food was great, staff was pleasant, but the wait to get in is outrageous because it's super small, so make sure you check in online at Yelp, tell them when you've arrived and wait INDOORS where they can see you so they don't skip you.
Sriracha chicken waffles are the best thing here!
This place is wonderful! The food, the staff, THE LATTES! Love it all!
Food and atmosphere was great! I would highly recommend NOT SITTING NEXT TO THE WINDOW. One, people are literally waiting in line right in front of you, and it made the experience with my husband not a memorable one. It was super hot and stuffy near the window. I don’t know why people have to wait inside to be seated? Not Syrup’s fault...So, maybe a sign that politely asks people to wait outside would be nice because they are seriously almost pressed up against you. Other than that, I 100% would recommend this business to all my friends!!!!!!
This place was really nice. But one thing that will help you is to have a reservation. We arrived at the restaurant and had 37 min wait. I am dont know if it was because it was Sunday morning after church or recovery from last night's game. The food was worth the wait. The staff was great and very friendly.
We waited for like 45 minutes maybe because it was a national day but it was worth the wait and we could go walk around while waiting because they'll send you a text message when your table is ready
Excellent brunch location!! Went with a group of friends for a birthday party, everyone loved their food! Their staff was friendly and efficient, and the bathroom was clean. It is a great place, so it can definitely get crowded. I got the eggs benedict. Will post a picture. :)
the food was delicious, go there instead of Ihop or other cheap breakfast restaurants because you're basically paying 10$ more for higher quality and better tasting food.the coffee is good, it has an earthy and slight nuttiness tone to it. so if you like that kind of coffee I approve of the French press.servers can be impatient sometimes but it's understandable since when you sit in there section and just talk when you're done eating you're basically not allowing other people to sit and you're taking money out of there pocket, but situations like that make servers a tad pushy for people like me when you're just grazing your food.
We went Saturday for brunch, late morning. They were busy but we got seated much faster then the predicted 30 minutes! Service was fast, friendly and the cinnamon roll pancakes were sooooo delicious!
Food is always good and serves are wonderful!
I was told to go here by a friend. I was sceptical, however that was the best breakfast. The pancakes were of good size and approached my taste buds unlike any pancake has ever had. After drinking my espresso and coffee, I had to find the beverage director. They got the coffee perfect. It compliments the earlier meal exactly as one could imagine.
Excellent place, great food, service and location. Right downtown Norman. I normally don’t leave feed back but the service and food was excellent. I would come back anytime!!!!!
I got the "Nompton" and the food tasted amazing! The staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend trying out "Syrup" next time you are in town for breakfast.
Our first time to this place was today and it was absolutely AMAZING! Not only was the food THE BEST, our waitress Jaime was so full of light and happiness. Such a sweet girl. And the manager Malcolm was SUPERB! I wanted to modify my order a little and without hesitation, he approved it. He REALLY takes care of his customers and his employees. Such wonderful people and seriously the best cinnamon roll pancakes I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back whenever we are in town.
Good food overall. Kinda pricey. Good luck Syrup.
One of Normans Great brunch spots! From pancakes to waffles to eggs, you are sure to find something tasty! They are busy at time, so prepare to wait. You will be rewarded with a great meal!
Beautiful atmosphere. Perfect service (Thanks AJ!!), and AMAZING french toast instantly made this on my favorites list. I will definitely be coming here again very soon!!
My group had a reservation set ahead of time but when we arrived we were told “we just seated a group of 6 so you will have to wait when they are done”. So we waited for 45 minutes only to have a group that didn’t have a reservation and came in after us seated with the exact same number of people that we had. I have had amazon orders arrive faster than they seat people at this establishment. Last time I was here there was a roach on the wall and the coffee was awful but I wanted to give them a second chance because I thought it was an abnormality for this to happen. When we tried to call the manager he was extremely rude and unprofessional in his way of speaking to us. It’s sad because the one in OKC is great but I will never go to the one in Norman again. If you’re thinking about going here do yourself a favor and go to Neighborhood Jam or The Dinner right down the street instead.
I really wanted to like Syrup. And it was pretty good, but not nearly as good as the price would indicate. I always judge breakfast food on how they cook the eggs. The whites should always be cooked, no matter what. The good: bacon was tasty and coffee was deliciousThe bad: My sunny side up eggs came with raw whites on top. Okay, I get it, not everywhere has perfected the art of the sunny egg. I sent it back and asked for over easy eggs. They were also undercooked. My wife's over medium eggs still had raw egg whites inside. I'm usually pretty understanding about kitchen errors, but at $10 a plate, I'd expect them to do better than 0/3 eggs correctly. The potatoes were lackluster and underdone. Syrup has all the trappings to be really good, but when they charge double the price of other breakfast joints, I expect better. Two "nomptons" and two black drip coffees cost me $30 before tip.
OMG. We just finished eating here for the first time and it was AMAZING. I had their French toast, kiddo had the waffle dippers, and hubby had the Nompton with blueberry pancakes. Holy moly it was all good. Hubby's first caramel latte with a design on it, but top 2 of best ones he's ever had. Staff was extremely kind and joked back with the hubs. Manager was just awesome.
Great food and atmosphere!
Food was good, coffee was great (French press) but service was really slow.
Excellent personality and hospitality from the wait staff. The food was good, would recommend and I do plan on returning. Prices are fair, especially for the portion sizes. No complaints, 5/5.Had a great time!
Great environment, coffee, and service. Food was unimpressive. Portions did not match prices. Everything was under-seasoned. Wait was long and good was cold.
Overall, my experience was great. Myself and a large group of friends went in very early in the middle of the week (730) and they were chipper and more than happy to accommodate such a large group (about 12). The host staff was extremely friendly and made the ordering process smooth and effortless. As far as the food is concerned, everything looked AND tasted fantastic. The meal was a bit on the pricey side but I think the occasional visit is certainly warranted. I would definitely recommend this business and I guarantee I will be back.
Overpriced, bland, and smaller portioned than expected for the price. I didn't have any of their coffee or espresso, but judging from the food it was probably not incredible. Service was great and the restaurant was clean.
Ordered non-complicated food and waited 30 minutes for some of the blandest, undercooked food I've eaten. Pancakes reminded me of undercooked Bisquick and potatoes were oily and barely cooked. Didn't finish my breakfast. Felt bad paying. One word: mediocre
We were there one weekend. It is a normal cafe with great food. We ate honey chicken, pesto chicken and waffle sundae. Food is awesome. However, we waited almost 1 hr to check-in. I would recommend to use YELP aap to check-in.
I love this place. Not biased at all. 😀. Great food, great people, and making a big impact.
Needs to be bigger but the food is DELICIOUS
First timers this morning and we loved it! Definitely will be back!
We went here on one of the busiest days of the week. Sunday brunch. The place was packed and with their text message to let you know when you're table was ready it was great. We ordered and I was amazed how fast our orders were delivered. The food was delicious and they kept our coffee cups full. Definitely a place for a great breakfast.
Ordered the Eggs Benedict with a drip coffee and they turned out wonderfully. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the avocado added a nice touch I wasn't expecting. I do have to minus one star though for a lack of a kosher meat option for those who don't eat pork like myself. It is always a little disappointing to not see a low fat Turkey bacon option, or anything else to substitute for pork. That being said however, I absolutely recommend Syrup for breakfast, especially if you're taking someone from out of town out to breakfast, even with it being on the more boutique side of pricing. The drip coffee is also surprising good! Well done with your coffee bean roast, not many places in Norman do it well.
We could have had Dennys for cheaper. They sell cute mugs though.
Excellent breakfast. Food was fantastic and they have a great selection of coffee.
The staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend trying out "Syrup" next time you are in town for breakfast. Overall, my experience was great. Myself and a large group of friends went in very early in the middle of the week (730) and they were chipper and more than happy to accommodate such a large group (about 12).
Honestly, the packages that I ordered from Amazon came faster than the seat that was supposed to be for us. We reserved a seat for 7 and literally waited an hour for a seat! If we were going to wait that long, then what was the purpose of making the reservation? Two groups of 4 were seated before us (and they didn’t even make a reservation). The staff is rude (especially Matthew the manager) and the customer service sucks. They could’ve told us the reason why our table was taking so long! They even gave us dirty looks🙃It’s not worth the hype!!!
Food was pretty good. A little bit of wait but it wasn't terrible. Had a latte called the coco that was phenomenal! Good place for breakfast if you're passing through or in town.
Great little breakfast/brunch place in downtown Norman. They serve a modern interpretation of classic dishes. Grab a coffee to go or to enjoy with a great meal. Their baristas are skilled and can make any drink you desire better than those chain stores from Seattle. Their staff is knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Usually a bit of a wait on weekends. Daily bustling with college students. But definitely worth the wait. The cinnamon roll pancakes are amazing. Their bacon has a nice Smoky flavor. Overall everything I've had here was delicious. Well worth the drive across town.
I ordered the breakfast sliders, I mean I already knew what to expect but I wasn't impressed, it came with a side of potatoes that tasted like they reheated leftovers from the day before, just stale and bland. My husband ordered their eggs benedict that were hard in the middle. Their overpriced sweet cream waffle was the "best" thing we ordered but even then.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in town, amazing food, and fantastic employees. I would highly recommend going!!!
We have been here a couple times over the years. They have some really delicious menu selections. We have always been treated very well and had excellent service. We recommend it for couples having a morning breakfast getaway or hanging with some friends for breakfast or brunch. #Breakfast #NormanOK #NormanOklahoma #Coffee #LocalBusiness
Delicious meal. Their bacon was incredible and so were the pancakes. Stumptown Coffee is always a plus!
My bf and I decided to give Syrup a try for brunch on Sunday. Let me just start off by saying that the coffee was phenomenal! I ordered the Nompton and a vanilla latte. He ordered the heuvos rancheros and the drip coffee. The drinks were definitely the star of the show! While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't anything to write home about. My over medium eggs were over easy, and my bf's over easy eggs were fried. The pancakes were tasty, but my bacon was cold and a bit stale. The building was quite warm, bordering on uncomfortable. We did receive a warm and friendly greeting upon our arrival, but the service took a downfall from there. It was difficult to get the attention of the wait staff, and when we finally did, we felt rushed and unheard. This was our first time going, so we'll give it another shot if for nothing other than to partake in a delectable cup of coffee and possibly a cinnamon roll pancake lol. 😋😍
Was a wonderful setting for a great breakfast. Cant wait to be back.
Great food, great service. EggsB are on point! The coffee has an earthy quality to it.
First time in, really enjoyed the food and coffee. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was fresh and delicious
Food was great. Only thing is I sat with an empty glass through my whole meal. Bums because the service was good, food was excellent, that would be my only small issue.
